The Community Outreach Department at Infinite Legacy focuses on educating and supporting our communities in Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia by hosting events and educating the public about organ, eye and tissue donation.

Infinite Legacy’s Commitment to Our Communities

We are committed to providing the communities we serve with the best educational resources to make informed decisions about registering to be an organ donor. The Community Outreach Department always strives to empower donor families, living donors, transplant recipients, waitlist candidates and others to share their experiences and inspire others to give the gift of life. We always want to honor and share the stories of those who are greatly impacted by our mission.

Infinite Legacy and The Decision Project®: Our Community Impact

Infinite Legacy works closely with The Decision Project® to empower the communities we serve in Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia by providing educational resources about organ, eye and tissue donation. The Decision Project is a grassroots initiative designed to spark meaningful conversations about organ donation and to encourage individuals to communicate their end-of-life wishes with family members and loved ones.

Together, The Decision Project® and Infinite Legacy host five block parties every year during the spring and summer months to inspire the public about organ, eye and tissue donation. Transplant recipients frequently volunteer at our Block Parties to share their transplant journeys and how organ donation has greatly impacted their lives. We also share resources about organ donation, provide free food, share local resources from different vendors, give out school supplies and more. We encourage everyone to join our Block Parties and learn more about The Decision Project.

Our Community Outreach Department and The Decision Project® are always reaching our community members in different ways that serve them best. This can be in-person at hospitals, schools, DMV or MVA locations, faith-based organizations, expos and more. We invite you to join the conversation with The Decision Project® and join any upcoming events to learn more about the importance of organ donation.

The African American Outreach Task Force: Their Goals and Influence

Infinite Legacy’s African American Outreach Task Force (AAOTF) works to build partnerships in the African American community to strengthen the organ donation message. We encourage everyone to register to be an organ donor and save more lives!

In 2024, the Prince George’s County Council presented a proclamation to the AAOTF Chair Dr. Flavia Walton “in support of National Minority Donor Day, and to recognize [Infinite Legacy’s] diligence in educating the public about the importance of minority organ donation and for meeting a critical need in the African American Community.”
